  14.    Maybe you know "passwd" by Ulrich and Eric Hambuch. This program is
  15.    able to password protect executeable files. If a protected file is
  16.    launched, the user has to enter the correct password in a small
  17.    window in order to run it.
  18.  
  19.    DePassword is able to show the password and/or completely remove
  20.    the password protection from those files. It has been tested up to
  21.    passwd V1.4.
  22.  
  23.    Even though passwd is a good way to protect programs against being
  24.    executed by unexperienced users, it is by FAR not that tough as it
  25.    is said by the authors.

  27.    Note that DePassword is a one-night-hack. I didn't put much effort
  28.    in it, so don't expect a beautiful GUI or an exemplary error handling.
  29.    But anyhow, it does its duty.

  32. USAGE

  35.    DePassword <file> INFO
  36.         Shows the password protection mode and the password itself.
  37.         Password protection will NOT be removed.

  39.    DePassword <file>
  40.         Shows the password protection mode and the password itself.
  41.         The protection will be removed. The unprotected file replaces
  42.         the protected one.

  44.    DePassword <source> <target>
  45.         Shows the password protection mode and the password itself.
  46.         The protection will be removed from the source file. The
  47.         unprotected file is saved as target.

  53.    You are using the program as it is, with all flaws, and on your own
  54.    risk! I grant no warranty for the software meeting a special purpose.
  55.    Always be aware that this software could fail to remove the password
  56.    protection. It may also cause financial damage or harm people.

  58.    You can copy the packet as long as it remains entire and unchanged.

  60.    You must not exceed an usual price on the market for your working
  61.    and material. This means a maximum of 5 DM (or the equivalent amount
  62.    in other currencies) for disks and 35 DM for CD-ROMs containing a PD
  63.    software collection.
